Avian influenza in wild birds / Influenza aviaire chez les oiseaux sauvages

As migratory birds return this spring, reports of the highly contagious H5N1 avian influenza are spreading across Canada. People are warned not to handle dead birds and are asked to contact the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative at 1- 800-567-2033 if you observe sick or dead birds. The feeding of waterfowl and other wild birds is also strongly discouraged. Read more…


Avec le retour des oiseaux migrateurs ce printemps, les rapports sur l‘influenza aviaire hautement pathogène (H5N1) se répandent à travers le Canada. On demande aux particuliers de ne pas manipuler les oiseaux morts et on les invite à communiquer avec le Réseau canadien pour la santé de la faune au 1- 800-567-2033 s’ils ont connaissance d’oiseaux malades ou morts.
