To date, survey work has led to the documentation of 23 families and 267 species in the park, in fact approximately 11% of all species known in Alberta thus making it one of the most diverse places for Lepidoptera in Alberta. Of these 45 are considered rare and are 36 uncommon, of these 13 species only known from this park. As for S-rankings there are 2 species that are considered S1 species, 24 are S1S2, 1 is S1S3 and 8 are S2 species.

Congratulations, Doug!
Thanks. This was my weekend project. I went data mining. The list has substantially grown since this posting. It all feeds into the provincial checklist that I'm managing these days with help from Greg Pohl & Loney Dickenson. I have a few more specimens to add once they are of the pinning boards. Good stuff down there, plenty of rare, only in Alberta species.
Same with the wasps. I wanted to go down this summer but I changed my plans due to the drought. Hopefully, I will be able to go again next year. Perhaps we could coordinate a trip?
Yes, that would be great. I'll let you know when I'm heading down next. what time of year is best for you. July? august?
Any time from June to August - the fauna changes. Last time I was there in mid-July so I would probably aim for August next time.
