BioBlitz results!

Thank you so much for joining our winter BioBlitz at Hellyer Park! Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet most of you in person, but we were so glad to see that 31 people participated at the BioBlitz, 30% of them were new iNaturalist users! This is great, as we're trying to find ways to organize public events in these strange times.
We documented 500 observations together, of close to 180 species. Hellyer Park is a great place to watch birds. We documented 44 bird species - we saw a few species sharing toyon berries, searching for food in the grass, flying above the park, or swimming in the lake.
The squirrels were very active, gathering acorns and running around. Pocket gophers were busy feeding on grass, ignoring curious naturalists. Lizards and turtles, frequently seen in the park during the summer, were nowhere to be seen on this cold morning.

Although we didn't get much rain this year, a few people documented mushrooms, two species of salamander, and one slime mold!
We documented 66 different plants, natives and non-natives. While most of the deciduous trees were still bare, it was interesting to see that buckeyes and blue elders have already started leafing out, and some willows had their first flower buds.
We hope you enjoyed the event, and please join us for the next one - Kelley Park BioBlitz, on 2/13/2021.

Some of my observations are in Santa Clara County Bioblitz, but did not go into the Hellyer Park Winter 2021 project. How do I select it? Thank you

In order to be included at the Hellyer Park BioBlitz, it will have to be within the park perimeter as it appears on iNaturalist. Since 22 of your observations were included in this project, I'm guessing the others were outside the project's polygon. You can view the polygon at the lower part of the project page - https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/hellyer-park-winter-2021-bioblitz
Were your other observations very close to this?
I see that 23 of your observations were included in the virtual BioBlitz event project - https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/4th-virtual-urban-bioblitz?tab=observers
I hope this helps!
