Bioblitz at Dixon Water Foundation's Josey Pavilion
Hi Everyone!
NPAT is holding a bioblitz at the Dixon Water Foundation's Josey Pavilion, north of Decatur, on September 9th from 7 am to 11 am. If you'd like to come out please let me know so I can keep a head count! Please feel free to tag other folks that would be interested as well. Details below:
Please use the Josey Pavilion's address, 5190 Co Road 398, Decatur, TX 76234. It should pop up if you search for "Josey Pavilion" in either Google or Apple maps, but use the provided address for best results. The driveway is between two metal signs with the Dixon Water Foundation's logo and the Josey Pavilion name. From there, follow the drive-way along the right to parking by the pavilion.
I don't need to tell anyone how hot it is outside right now, so please come prepared for the heat! Bring plenty of water and sun screen. For safety reasons, please wear closed-toed shoes.

I'll try to make it. How much area near the pavilion will we be able to cover? Looks like there's a wooded area/escarpment to the northeast and some water features to the south?
Already put in my Sept schedule and still have time to change it! Let me see what I can do!

I will defintely be traveling that day so I won't be able to make it, but definitely keep me in the loop for future bioblitzes. Now that I'm an empty nester I have more time and retirement isn't that far away!

Please keep me in the loop for the next one. I am going to pass on the 4½ hour drive up Highway 77 with no wildflowers enticing me to pull over and take photos. Seen enough crispy brown landscape around here. Our hot dry summer has drained my enthusiasm. Hope everyone has a grand time. I am looking forward to perhaps a shower next week in Lee County.
