what about the potential for conserving the name Coprosma grandifolia?

I just committed to the name change for my obs, with grave reservations, after checking the Wikipedia, iNat and NZPCN pages, which have all adopted the change.
I did not know there was a possibility of the old name being conserved. Aaagh. Not a botanist, me. I would love to keep the name I learned this plant with. Please advise! Thanks

Update...actually it seems iNat server baulked at carrying out the change for my 1575 obs of the speciez. I will eagerly await further advice before trying again:).
