If you are in South Florida, please consider joining the City Nature Challenge project for Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties! This fun event will be taking place from Friday, April 30th to Monday, May 3rd and we need your help observing all of the beautiful plants, birds, fish, insects, fungi etc that call this area home! https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2021-south-florida-cncsoflo

iNaturalist is a great way to learn about the nature you can find in your neighborhood or really anywhere in the world. I've been using it for a few years now and I'm hooked on it! Even though I've spent countless hours exploring Miami-Dade County, from urban areas to the Everglades and Biscayne Bay, I am still amazed by how often I see something I had no idea existed-- whether I find it myself or somebody else uploads it to iNaturalist. Seeing biodiversity first-hand is a lot of fun but it's just as fun to see what other people find :-)

Please help make iNaturalist a better tool by checking out this link with tips from an iNaturalist expert:

About me: Born & raised in Miami, Fl. I teach Portuguese & Italian at a high school and commute to work and most places by bicycle. Over the years I've learned to appreciate nature in all of its forms. I started off by paying attention to birds but would always notice an interesting insect or flower while birding. iNaturalist gave me a way to get help IDing what I was finding and learn more.
