The coprinus comatus fruiting body is eatable. The fungi has antihyperglycemic properties, meaning it has the ability to lower glucose levels in the blood. This gives the fungi anti-diabetic affects. Coprinus comatus also has antioxidant properties. Extracts from the fruiting bodies show that the fungi contains certain antioxidant compounds. These compounds include absorb acid, tocopherols, and phenols.

This flowering plant is commonly known as a Broad-Leaved Goldenrod. It falls in the Asteraceae family in the Solidago section, its scientific name is Solidago flexicaulis. The Broad-leaved Goldenrod has adapted to have yellow flowers. This pigment attracts insects, which act as pollinators, right to the ovary of the plant to become pollinated. All the flowering plants in the project have adapted to have small grains of pollen which can easily be spread around their habitat by the wind or pollinators allowing for more efficient reproduction.
