Dryad's Saddle
Dryad's Saddle is part of the Polyporales order of fungi and is easily identified by the saddle-shaped manner in which it grows in. Additionally, it is known to grow on deciduous trees and has a distinctly strong odour (Britannica, 2010). Dryad's Saddle is rich in vitamins B, C, and D and also contains minerals such as potassium, iron, phosphorus and is rich in antioxidants - it is most often used for in cooking in soups and stews (Tjandra, 2019). Dryad's Saddle has no known medical benefits, with its value instead coming from the nutritional benefits it provides.
