Brood #3 - 8 goslings
Gander and his mate (in the last pic) Her eggs hatched May 7th
Continuing- submitted for the nest project.
One quick fly by up high & didn't hang around for a better shot
These 3 new geese really, really wanted to come in & eat, however Mr.Mrs.Cangoos refused to allow that! They kept swimming over & pushing the new ones away. Finally Mr.Cangoos chased them, but even that didn't deter the 3 hungry ones. I left some food further up the shore & eventually the trio managed to sneak a couple of pieces of corn. #9 shows Mr.Cangoos checking to make sure his Missus was still ok, & the last pic shows Mr.Mrs.Cangoos quietly coming back in to feed at their usual diner.
Continuing- Mr.Mrs Cangoos finally allowing the 3 new geese to come in a little closer & get some food. (This was after Mr.Cangoos laid out the dining rules!!)
Sorry - terrible pic. Edge of corn field.
Hardwood. Post drought (10 days after rain).
8 days post drought. By house where big Spruce died 5 yrs (?) ago.
In flight-near eaves
As per the last pic...this is 'Buddy', and he grabbed that peanut & headed to the nearest branch to chow down on it!
Continuing-Mr.Mrs.Cangoos coming in for dinner. The dog is in his usual spot to the left in #2. Man that was one COLD evening!!!!
