Please note this is a very rare vagrant that showed up in Western KS.

Please look closely and you'll see, and hear, it is not the more normal Pygmy nuthatch that does occasionally show up in this area.

Found dead in the bison/elk yard at Lee Richardson Zoo. No evidence that the bison or elk had contributed to it's death or messed with the body. Had wounds that potentially indicated being grabbed by a predatory bird
