In Chinese word, it means "Five Fingered Hairy Plum" literally due to shape of some leaves. However, the plant is belong to Genus Ficus. The young stem of the tree is a common and effective Chinese medicine. Usually, it would be cut to candy size and put it in the soup with Chicken and pork. The stem is hard as rock and can not be eaten but it has an interesting fragrance that is similar to coconut. The soup of medicine would help to reduce the humid (bad moisture) inside the body, to relief cough and reduce phlegm inside the throat.
