Field Notes - This is known locally at Primula denticulata, but I can't seem to find the species in Questagame. It grows wild here in Bhutan and is flowering beautifully at the moment.

Field Notes - OK, so very poor photograph, but I was ecstatic to see this bird from a restaurant window on the way up to Dochula. I've never seen a bird of this colour in Bhutan and I thought only the hard core twitchers with super camera lenses would see these. The only other bird of this colour and size that I can see in my "Birds of Bhutan" book is the pale blue flycatcher but we were much higher than 2180m max elevation distribution of this species. We were closer to 3000m.

Field Notes - We call this "old man's beard". I looked up "Usnea" on the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal and "Usnea longissima" seems to be the species found in Bhutan. This particular specimen looks a bit different from the usual old man's beard, which is why I took the photo. Perhaps it is a young specimen?
