Found on fallen conifer, a layer of porous hymenium covered by a thick membrane
I determined the plant was in Betulaceae due to the color of the bark and and habitat. I also determined the plant to be in the genus Alnus due to the strongly revolute, broadly elliptic leaves.
Betulaceae -> Alnus -> 1b, 2a -> Alnus rubra.
I determined the plant to me a member of the Grossulariaceae family based on the racemose, tubular flowers, and simple, palmately lobed leaves. Grossulariacae -> Ribes -> 1b, 5a -> group 2-> 14b, 15b, 16b, 18a -> Ribes sanguinium.
I determined that the plant was a member of the Orchidaceae family based on the showy, solitary, bilaterally symmetric flower with parallelly veined leaves.
Orchidaceae -> 1b, 5b, 8b, 9a, Calypso -> Calypso bulbosa.
Mushroom cap about 3 cm diameter height about 6 cm from base. Smooth grey upper saddle with fine spots covering the underside.
