Not sure, but believe these two garter snakes to be terrestrial based on the black dots on situated on their stripes. Found along the irrigation ditch that the Hogback Trail crosses in the Paradise Valley. Rocky and xeric site with sagebrush, grasses and scattered juniper.
Adult approx 2 feet long. Was basking to road but moved to a rock shelter when I got out to move it
Observed along the bank of and in the pond at crosscut mountain sports center. Also observed lots of amphibian activity (western toad and Columbia spotted frog).
