Saw this whale breach as it was feeding on a school of fish about 75 yds off the shoreline. There were also dolphins and pelicans feeding on the same fish.

This little one is being raised at the Poplar Island visitor center. In the wild terrapins hibernate in the mud for the winter, however in the aquarium with heated water and food they will continue to grow. In the spring they will be the size of a hamburger and released back to their natural environment. With the added size they are much less vulnerable to predation by the many herons and gulls that breed on the island. Poplar Island, Talbot County, Maryland.
We were entertained for at least an hour watching several dolphins feeding in the sound. We were told that they live in the sound and don’t go out to sea.
Washed up on the beach and given to UNCW Stranding Team
There were 5 or 6!
Not positive on ID, but fin is hooked and solid gray. Seen right offshore North End Beaches.
