Found along a shortcut trail between Mineral Wells trail and Bill Eckert trail right before an Acorn Woodpecker showed up.
Growing on the side of the road near a pond in an area that is regularly mowed. Purple flower.
Saw one of these a few days ago about 200 yds. away at the foot of Snake Mountain. These shots a bit better; also show what I take to be neat lines of 'sapsucker wells'.
