NOW I know why it’s called A. lavendula!! I have never seen these really lavender colors- maybe one time after many observations of this group with a slight, possibly imagined hint of lavender! This one is truly lavender- the same in the photos as in natural light. Found in NC after 1st cool nights following warm Fall weather. I have read that the lavender is usually best seen after frosts ( if then) but perhaps this sudden cooling was enough to initiate it! I’m amazed ,mind boggled and happy I’ve really finally seen lavender!!
Amy's Bolete Hill. Would have sworn it was a russula until I looked at the small one. CM23-21915
Biodiversity. Again, I'd guess Cortinarius. CM23-21903
