Comenzaba a cruzar la carretera, por poco la atropellamos pero la esquivamos y nos detuvimos para quitarla del camino
She was starting to cross the road, we almost ran over her but we dodged her and stopped to get her out of the way
Recently encountered remnant individual on the Bolson Tortoise Appleton translocation program. Found in the road at 4:05 pm on Audubon's Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch (PRIVATE) property with permission. The following week we encountered Borderlands Program Coordinator/researcher Myles Traphagen attempting to relocate it. Contact him for details about updated research initiatives!

Is this a Saguaro or a Cardon? There are a lot of mature barrel cacti in this conservation area, but I don't believe that is a barrel cactus.
If it is something like a Saguaro, how did it get here since they are not native to this area? Was it planted by someone or did an animal move a seed and it grew? It is located in Section 6, the desert view conservation area off Onaga trail.
