Eating a green iguana. Sorry that the last photo is a bit gruesome.
This individual threw me off a bit... I still think this is Eurasian, but the undertail black marking patters seems a bit more consistent with African (as per: https://thecottonwoodpost.net/2018/11/01/why-are-so-many-eurasian-collared-doves-leucistic/). The extension of the black line on the right seem there but short and absent from the left. But the under tail coverts are darker instead of white. I wonder if this is a hybrid... Other thoughts?
-Assuming male because it was cooing and dancing for a near by individual.
Found on road, already hit. Rehab referred me to county animal services, who would almost certainly euthanize. Kept in box for an hour was very alert and wings responsive so I let it go. Figured I’d give it a fighting chance even though it likely won’t survive.
Hard to verify but the gulls seemed to be picking out crabs from the sargassum seaweed, so I assume these might be sargassum swimming crabs.
