Approximate measurements: see image 12.
Seemingly intact but not alive, this sand crab was on the Hermosa Beach shore. A little over an inch long.
There was a little bit of purple under the bell of this jelly that I found Hermosa Beach Shore. However it didn’t seem to have the streaks of purple that I’ve seen in the purple-striped sea nettles. Is this a greater moon jelly? It was about a foot in diameter.
Discussion 2: type of metamorphosis
holometabolous
Found by Clarence Cole, time was 2:32pm, it was hot outside and slightly windy in my backyard i notice an juvenile insect crawling out of the grassy backyard onto the cement i picked it up with a lid.
Tiny gooseneck barnacles attached to a small feather on the Hermosa beach shore. Not sure if these were still alive. Probably only about 1/8 of an inch tall
