Senecio arenarius Thunb. (= Senecio cakilefolius DC.) Hongerblom

Glandular-hairy annual, 15–40 cm.
Leaves toothed to pinnatisect, margins sometimes revolute. Flower heads radiate, several, terminal
in branched corymbs, yellow with mauve (rarely white or pale yellow) rays. July–Sept. Sandy
and gravelly flats and washes, NW, SW, AP (central Namibia, Namaqualand through western
S Africa to De Hoop and Karoo Mtns).

Growing together with T. lucens (which it resembles quite a bit when not flowering).

The first couple of pics are of male specimens: T. guthrieae on the left, and T. lucens on the right.

The fruits of T. lucens are the round ones (i.e., as broad as tall), whereas T. guthrieae have fruits that are longer than tall. Also, the taller plants in the photos are T. lucens, whereas the shorter ones are T. guthrieae.

Moreover, the spikelets themselves are also quite different, with T. guthrieae being much larger.
