The common name is "Bird's Nest Fungi" because they look like small bird's nests filled with eggs. The peridioles ("eggs") on the inside gray in color. I extracted the "eggs" using forceps and surface sterilized them in 70% ethanol under a hood. Using two forceps, I "cracked" the "eggs" into two pieces and inserted them into MEA+++ media to culture them. The coating was strong and difficult to split in half. I plan on growing them with my bonsai trees.
