Found in Flatts inlet after winds from the NW.
Found in some rope that had washed ashore, placed on Sargassum to photograph.
From my driveway
i was really confused by this weird little critter. i have never seen it before - i found it attached to a piece of washed in sargassum- but if i’m right about it being a tanaid, it probably colonised the sargassum when it was inshore, rather than living on the high seas. it was big, like half the length of my finger. it looked like a dead stick from the top, but then i saw it had pale yellow antennae and lots of legs. it could crawl and also could swim! it did this cute twirly kind of swimming, like it was always travelling in a spiral through the water. would appreciate any ideas on an id!
Found navigating across Udotea sp.

Found washed up on beach (Jobson's Cove) with sargassum.
Found washed up on beach in wrack. Quite heavily decomposed, head is missing and wings have been stripped to bone by fish. Atlantic Puffins are very rare in Bermuda, only two live records have ever been recorded. Dead ones wash up once in a while.
Found floating at surface offshore on Challenger Banks, photographed by Andrew Stevenson whilst looking for Cuvier's Beaked Whales. Possibly killed by a whale sonar?
Re-uploading observation onto public record account so it does not add onto my life list as I did not see these eggs myself. Will delete first observation after this. @clauden @sargassogirl if you want to add this observation back onto your favorites.
Not found my myself, but posted to Instagram by Dylan Simpson a local Bermudian fisherman. He said he found about 20 stuck to an old rope, which was attached to the sea floor, with several feet of rope floating at the surface. Two eggs still hadn't hatched yet (pictured). No Cat Sharks or Skates are known to live in Bermuda as far as I'm aware. Eggs were not saved unfortunately.
Caught and photographed by local fisherman Scott Amos
