I’m trying to identify the insect drinking from the flower. I haven’t been able to get closer to identify it because it keeps moving around and the hover flies keep chasing it away when it tries to drink from the hyssop. It has long back legs and a long “tail” that bends.

This is Pete, the peacock who lives at my moms house. About two winters ago my mom heard a loud noise outside and they looked at saw him. They are not sure where he came from but he as been there ever since. Out of all the peacocks I looked up, he seems to be peafowl. He likes to eat chicken food and sleeps up in the tops of trees. This type of peacock seems to be territorial, especially to males. He does not like when men come around him. When my moms fiancé mows the yard, Pete will stand right by his food and just stare him down until he is done. In the summer is when this breed of peacock looses it feathers. Their yard is filled with them right now. http://www.bigrunwolfranch.org/peacock.html
