Boy does this one have a story! I was outside tide-pooling when I saw a glimmer of color. After closer inspection, I realize that it was, in fact, an opalescent Nudibranch. I watched it for a while and not much happened. All the sudden, there was a blur of movement. The Nudibranch, which was just going under a piece of seaweed, retracted in horror. Clinging onto it, was a shrimp (which I am having some difficulty identifying) Struggling , trying to pull it under the leaf. Eventually, thanks to the Opalescent Nudibranch’s incredible ability to absorb the stings of creatures such as sea anemones and re-purpose them into their own stings, It got away. In the second picture, you will see the end of the battle, the Nudibranch struggling next to the shrimp which is on the right. I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to have seen this.

All of the woodlice around it (and every other one I have seen in the area) are gray. Is this a mutation, or something else entirely?

I would love help identifying this! All I have so far is that it is a type of centipede which I already knew. I found it under a rock in a steam. It seems quite capable and most at ease moving around underwater, Therefore I think that it’s species is semi aquatic if not fully aquatic. It was roughly 3 1/2 inches long and 3/4 of an inch wide. It was grayish tan. It took me two tries to get it into the cap of the jar so that I could take a decent photo, mostly because I was nervous about getting stung, but I eventually managed. I would deeply appreciate any help identifying this beautiful creature! edit: It turns out to be a dobsonfly larvae
