There were over 10 whitethorn acacias widely scattered on either side of NM-119, about 1/2 mile west of Dilia. Most were gone several years after these photos, possibly from chaining out as is typical for mesquites on rangeland areas. After the brutal Feb. 2011 freeze, the few acacias left here were sprouting from the bases and lower branches. Map location is approximate.

Quite a few poppiesin this patch but didn’t see any along the sidewinder and bobsled bike trails otherwise.
