Growing up by the Garry Oak meadows, woods and the seashore here on Vancouver Island, Canada resulted in the desire to get out and see things. Retired and now, travelling and seeing more things - sometimes, it gets photographed. Because travelling results in personal "out of range" observations, and knowing my eyes are not as fine tuned as an "endemic" observer, there is great appreciation for identification input even if that means correcting the initial suggested ID.

The icon is a Garry Oak.

Two administrated projects:

  1. World Heritage Natural Site Observations

  2. Footzoom: Observations gathered by experiencing the habitat via access by human-powered transport from ones' primary residence.

My wife and I blog our travels that result in our observations here: https://maggieandwallysescapades.blogspot.com/
