I've enjoyed nature since my Dad took me hiking in the Santa Ana Mountains when I was 4. I rode on his back part way. My Dad and I hiked in the Sierra Nevada and in the Southern California mountains. When on the 7 day loop hike in Yosemite, I was introduced to flower and bird details. Since then I have been a plant nut.

When I got old, I said I take up birding seriously. Before that I found bird walks too slow. So in 2012 my husband bought me binoculars. Since then I have spent most of my free time birding.

I still enjoy plants. Now that I live in Texas, I am having to learn a whole new set of plants.
