This project intends to monitor the progress of the vegetation (phenology) of several plants with the Blue Hills State Reservation, rather than observe as many different plants as in a bioblitz. This project tracks how vegetation in plants and the presence of animals change over an annual cycle.

This project supplements Picture Post Project Postings on Great Blue Hill surrounding the Blue Hill Observatory. In most cases pictures are taken at the same time pictures are taken for these postings. These pictures provide close up and medium distant views of individual trees that may be visible in the panoramic Picture Post image sets. Plants do not have to be in the panoramic view or be on the summit of Great Blue Hill, but they should be visited at least three times a year and within the Blue Hills Reservation.

General process:

1. Find a location to visit at least three times. It can be a specific tree, a specific area with several plants, a place where there is a birdhouse or other recognizable location.
2. Take a set of pictures like you would any observation. Try to take an overall picture of the tree/site, one of leaves or buds, and one of any other feature such as a flower or fruit.
3. Post as you would any observation.
4. At a later date, visit the location again. Take similar pictures to ones you took before.
5. [This is where I will be experimenting] open the previous observation and add pictures. Add observation notes. If additional pictures can't be added, then add a point next to the previous point.
