newt survey 12/26 - southern half (Aldercroft)

Belated update after freeing my photos from a dead hard drive.

160 dead newts, 0 live newts.
December 26, 2019 (Thursday) 3pm-4:45pm
Weather: Dry and overcast, had been dry for a couple days.
Other roadkill: 1 large millipede.
Coverage: Aldercroft Heights Road intersection to stop sign.
Rainfall: MTD 2.73in, YTD 6.21in (per http://www.weathercat.net/wxraindetail.php?year=2019)
Traffic: 36 vehicles, 4 bicycles, 1 jogger.

Oddly, most of the newts were on the east side of the road (the side farther from the reservoir). I had almost nothing to count for the whole walk between Aldercroft Heights Rd & Soda Spring Canyon

@truthseqr I subtracted the newt-shaped snail from this tally, and left in the duplicate with Merav.

@sea-kangaroo, I don't remember the newt-shaped snail. Could you please give me the iNat ID #.

I'm afraid I deleted it already and don't have the number, but if that happens again I'll be sure to leave it up until I've made sure you've seen it and agreed. It was the one where you commented that it might be something else due to overall strange appearance and bits of shell present, and when I enlarged it there was actually quite a lot of snail shell present everywhere and nothing indicated a more structured body (also darker-colored flesh than usual).

No worries. I remember it now. You could've left it in iNat and added it to the "Other Roadkill" project, which is also important. Your call.

I had been thinking Garden Snail, which are actually good to be run over, but pretty good chance it was a shoulderband now that I think about it. I'll reupload and put it in the other project.
