Celestial visitor - Kerala Moon Moth
Last week we were at a dark, peaceful locality of Coorg enjoying the spectacular firefly congregation. We were surrounded by millions of fireflies which were setting the landscape ablaze with their synchronized display.
The moonlit night was magical. Great company, enthralling natural spectacle, tranquility. What more can you ask for? We were all happy. Grateful for the magic which we all got to witness.
Post midnight we were heading towards our vehicles when Nature threw another beautiful surprise at us. Dr Vibha had spotted something glowing on the foliage. It turned out to be a piece of the moon itself, embodied in the form of a beautiful Kerala moon moth!
No way either me or Sujith were leaving the place without photographing it. So we scampered up the steep undergrowth and took turns photographing her carefully and unobtrusively.
Bathed in the soft, filtered moonlight, the moth revealed her true magnificence, leaving us utterly spellbound.
Amidst the whispers of the forest and the dance of the fireflies, we found ourselves humbled by thhe magic of the natural world. A reminder that in the quiet corners of the earth, miracles still await those who seek them.
