63 degrees Fahrenheit (17 degrees Celsius), light rain. Calling from planted vegetation on hotel grounds; I wasn't sure whether the sound was emanating from woody vegetation (shrubs, small trees) or from the lawn.

Temperature 83 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius). Whatever this is, it was ubiquitous in the desert shrubs along the Virgin River here. Noisy cellphone audio, with much road noise and some river noise; but you see the spectrogram pretty well. I believe this is genus Gryllus, but I'm not all confident about species veletis.
