Berry Springs Preserve TAW report, 21Nov2015

Two veterans and one rookie came out on a very chilly (8 deg C when we left) and breezy evening at Berry Springs Preserve on November 21, 2015. Several Rio Grande Leopards Frogs were observed along the pond, slough, and orchard "ditch" shorelines, and the still relatively warm pond water (19 deg C) encouraged a couple of individuals to call briefly (CI = 1) at the end of the hour-long monitoring period. Bats were seen and heard (via the bat detector) over the pond a little after sunset. The water level seemed to be a bit above average - the closest slough had more water in it than last month. Hopefully, the weather will be nicer for the humans next month.

Comentários

Sorry I missed the monitoring this month. But happy to see that there was some frog and bat activity! Kudos to the hardy souls that braved the chilly conditions.
