The Black-chinned Hummingbird on his territory

On the 26th, I stumbled upon a male black-chinned hummer who had laid claim to a piece of suvannah near the drive way. Very easy to monitor. Not out 1 km or so. So I decided to watch him.

Photo graphed the location on 26th and on the 27 photographed bird. See ebird. Today at 7:18 pm saw him again at his perch. Looked for him around 7:50 AM no bird.

What I'd like to know is how long do male hummers stick to a territory. This one has indian blanket as most of the visible flowers. But he keeps going off into the live oaks and cactus to the east of his perch. Factor may be distance from house (around .15 km).
