Next expedition is the Badlands of South Dakota
Looking forward to my October trip to the Badlands and Tall Grass Prairies. Stocking up with plant ID guides and tuning up my best camera. Any ideas for places to check out are welcome. Will also be kayaking on the Niobara River.

My usual strategy when going somewhere completely new is to do a search for iNaturalist observations in the area. Then look for holes in the data. In lightly explored areas, there are usually state parks or similar public land with no submissions at all. I then try to fill in as many of those holes as I can.
