In lieu of being on vacation, I was still able to explore the beaches of Rhode Island. At approximately 2:20pm, I began walking on a very quiet beach in Misquamicut RI. It was pretty chilly, about 40ish degrees. The things that I came across in my explorations, all within a mile or so of beach front, was either washed up or found right behind the sand in a marsh area. Many of the things I came across were not moving. I saw a dead bird and many different species of seaweed. The most interesting thing that I observed was probably the seagull that was on the beach. Though it wasn't alive, it was fascinating to see how nature plays its role in life. Lastly, I thought that it was really interesting to see a beach that is not public and crowded in the summer. During the winter, you can see more of what is actually beneath the water and the vast number of species that make up the ocean's environment.
