I’m an amateur botanist currently attending UC San Diego as an Environmental Chemistry major. I have experience in gardening, mostly growing food and California native plants. I also enjoy volunteering for habitat restoration with extensive volunteering experience in and around Los Angeles County. I specialize in the native and invasive forbs, shrubs, and trees of Southern California.

When I have time to spare, I identify plants on iNaturalist, mostly focusing on dicots in Southern California. I’m not familiar with most monocots or gymnosperms other than conifers, so I can’t offer much help identifying those. If you have any questions about an identification that I make, feel free to ask and I’ll clarify.

Usually, I submit an identification only if I’m completely confident that it’s correct, but I may leave a comment with possible identifications if I’m not entirely sure. I leave comments with identifications for others to reference and so I can keep track of the observation to learn from it if it eventually gets identified. If I make a mistake, please correct me and leave a justification if you can so I can learn from it for future identifications. If I make an observation on your post, please do not agree with it unless you are sure it’s correct. I make mistakes. Agreeing with my identifications if you’re not sure they’re correct can push an incorrect identification that I may make to research grade.
