Baudin's Black Cockatoos are CRITICALLY ENDANGERED

Climate change has emerged as a dire threat to Australian birdlife, as comprehensive surveys from around the continent reveal millions of individual birds have disappeared in the past decade.

A concerning number of Australia’s birds are also closer to extinction than they were 10 years ago, as climate change, the destruction of habitat and feral predators take a toll, according to a new 800-page report published by CSIRO

Estimation of 2,500 - 4,000 birds remaining 2018. Climate change isn't the reason for the decline of Baudin's though. Destruction of habitat, nesting hollows, foraging food etc is the reason for their decline. So, many of their forgaging foods are in fact listed as "near threatened" including jarrah, marri and others. It's hardly surprising that extinction is now looming as a very likely possibility.
