Lawsuit Launched to Protect Rare Salamander in California, Oregon.

SAN FRANCISCO— Conservation groups today filed a notice of intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for failing to respond to a 2018 petition for Endangered Species Act protection for the Siskiyou Mountains salamander.

$150 million Seal Beach naval project would change the way sea turtles travel to the ocean.

Jeff Seminoff, marine ecologist and leader of the NOAA’s Marine Turtle Ecology and Assessment Program at the Southwest Fishery Science Center in La Jolla, and his team, are working with Navy biologists to study the turtles’ habitat and lifestyle.
