Description
The National Recreation and Parks Association is hosting their annual Parks for Pollinators Bioblitz in September 2024, and we are eager to participate! Join us on September 7th, as we take on Hendrick Arnold Nature Park to look for bugs, plants, and animals to document on iNaturalist as a part of this bioblitz.
What is a bioblitz? Great question! According to National Geographic, a bioblitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. We at the River Authority held a bioblitz back in March, if you all remember, and the City Nature Challenge is another example, though it is on a much larger scale. We will be using iNaturalist to document different species of plants and animals at this park.
If you're not familiar with iNaturalist and would like to learn more, check out our Virtual iNaturalist Training on Wednesday, Sept 4, (Sign ups on MyImpact)! Questions / Comments email Samantha Villanueva message@volunteer2mail.com
