‘Lightning Trout’ electrify four East Bay lakes.

Trout that look like no other, colored a vivid California gold and called “Lightning Trout,” have been planted in four lakes in the East Bay hills and brought fishing to life in the Bay Area.

What caused a 10-foot shark to wash up and die near a popular surf beach?

A 10-foot shark washed up at San Onofre State Beach just south of San Clemente on Monday, Dec. 16, with experts doing a necropcy a day later to find out just why the sevengill shark ended up on dry land.

Rare 7-Year-Old Fall-Run Chinook Salmon Caught Near Bodega Bay.

For just the third time in nearly four decades, California wildlife officials say they’ve documented a 7-year-old fall-run Chinook salmon.

According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the fish was caught by a commercial salmon troller in July near Bodega Bay. The fish measured 36 inches long.
