The dead animal was reported on the side of Highway 1 just south of Ardath Drive by a passerby at about 7:50 a.m., according to Capt. Todd Tognazzini with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Remodeled Murrieta road is good for drivers — and wildlife.

At six lanes and with traffic zooming by, it’s clear the extension of Clinton Keith Road in Murrieta is meant to make life easier for people.

The project includes a giant wildlife overcrossing intended to let animals safely continue their travels, too.
