Between 2017 and 2019, the species was observed and photographed in winter and summer. Groups of more than one hundred individuals with adults followed by juveniles were recorded in a series of localities in In Guezzam area. All data presently available lead to conclude that the Sudan Golden Sparrow is now a sedentary species, well established in the extreme south of Algeria and which tends to spread into the south
and south-eastern regions of the country. The species can no longer be considered as a very irregular
migrant and accidental winter visitor to the south of Algeria.
