I love learning about and observing various fungi, slime molds, animals, plants and nature in general. Recently I've gotten into mushroom foraging, particularly in upstate NY. I'm new to this, so I use the common names and not the Latin taxonomy quite yet. As for edibles, so far I've found Chanterelles, Oyster Mushrooms, Black Trumpets, Wood Ear, Lion's Mane, Dryad's Saddle, certain Boletes... I love observing all the various forms and fruiting bodies that fungi produce. I've found some beautiful Blue Stain Fungi, Green-Capped Jelly Babies and Clavaria zollingeri. Mushroom 'hunting' is a great excuse for me to go be in nature.
