Botanizer, birder, photographer, hiker, and all-round naturalist in Pittsburgh PA. I have a passion for ecology, conservation, and native gardening.

I am a co-coordinator of the Pittsburgh Christmas Bird Count, an outing leader for the Three Rivers Birding Club (3RBC), and member of the Western PA Mushroom Club, and the Botanical Society of Western PA. I also volunteer for the Pittsburgh Parks where I've led bird walks for elementary school campers.

I am also a dedicated patch birder, and I've made a few notable observations near my home over the years. Most recently, the first pair of Merlins to breed in Allegheny County, which I wrote an essay about, published in The Peregrine, the 3RBC's bimonthly journal, which you can find here: https://www.3rbc.org/newsarch/newsspt22.pdf
