I'm currently enjoying myself as a Master's student at Dr. Jason Gibbs's Bee Lab, Department of Entomology, University of Manitoba, Canada, and working on a taxonomic studies of western North American 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮 (𝘏𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴) and
a problematic 𝘓. (𝘚𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢) species complex (Hymenoptera: Halictidae).

I earned my B.Sc. (Agric. Tech. and Mgt.) with a major in Applied and Economic Entomology from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

Utilizing my photography skills, I document these tiny creatures. During my undergraduate studies, I delved into the world of 𝘍𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴 thrips in Sri Lanka. Subsequently, my focus expanded to include wild bees, stingless bees, chrysomelid beetles, and hymenopteran parasitoids of Sri Lanka. Currently, my primary emphasis lies in the realm of wild bees.

Please ask before using my images (I'll probably say, 'YES'). You have my permission to use my images for any educational use including on citizen science sites and boards as long as you credit me. Citizen science is cool, please don't abuse it.

FINALLY, there is a "real fantasy" on our very doorstep, after all!
