I'm a chemist with a Master's from Rice University. In my research there, I synthesized and studied inorganic solid state materials with exotic electromagnetic properties. I identified one of only four known itinerant magnetic compounds in existence (compounds in which magnetic order emerges due to the correlated behavior of conduction electrons). I also studied solid state Mott insulating compounds such as Sr2F2Fe2OS2 and Sr2Mn3As2O2.

Currently, I work on environmental restoration of formerly-used defense sites and Superfund sites. I also study and collect rocks and minerals as a hobbyist. I don't have any particular expertise with living things, but I love being out in nature and getting up close to plants and animals in the wild.
