I am fortunate enough to live on the Long Beach Peninsula. When I got my Master's degree in counseling psychology I focused in particular on ecopsychology, the psychology of how we relate to nature and how we can use the restorative properties of nature in therapy. I am a certified Oregon Master Naturalist and Wilderness First Responder. I teach classes on nature identification through various community colleges. You can find out more about my classes and other work at rebeccalexa.com

I'm interested in citizen scientist projects local to southwestern Washington and Northwestern Oregon in particular. I'm in my third year of volunteering with Cascade Pika Watch, and I've also done volunteer work with SOLVE and the Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership; I also used to participate in the Adopt-a-River program in Oregon. I currently volunteer with Friends of the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge.
