Hi, my name is Mary and I live in the Queenstown area of the Central Otago region in the South Island of New Zealand. I have a true love of walking, hiking and climbing. Also Nature Photography and Writing.
I love the mountains and the lakes and feel 'at home' when I'm on them or near them, or on the tracks around them. Nothing like getting away from civilization (as much as I can), and have a fine, coolish, (not too cold) sunny day (and not too hot) and plenty of time to just relax and enjoy the great outdoors and to photograph God's wonderful beauty of the natural world. I love anything to do with flora and fauna. And always have.

One of the best things I did was to join 'Nature Watch NZ'. It's great to be able to know the names of the flora and fauna and to learn about them. Makes it so much more interesting. A big 'thank you' to everyone who's helped to identify my obs. And also it's nice to be able to do the same in return (when I can, on the ones that I know).

In the 'Journal' Section - (typed in green) and which is below 'Your Profile' (typed in black), you will see the 'Queenstown Gardens' Project that I helped with, and enjoyed doing.

That's about it for now.
Take care
Mary
May 2018 - Naturewatch NZ is finished and now we are connected with the global iNaturalist community.

19.8.'20 - Sad to say I won't be putting any more Observations/Maps on iNaturalistNZ. I found it difficult doing the maps on all the Observations each time - too hard on my eyes (neck and upper shoulders.) And it wasn't getting any better. So that's the reason for my decision.
I will still continue to hike and take photos of Nature. I will miss it all. I've enjoyed it all. I will miss having a 'more active' roll, and also miss you all.
Wishing everyone the very best for the future. Thank you for everything. I've learnt a lot over the years.
I will stay with iNaturalist NZ, but now just have a 'back seat' doing 'Identifications' only.
Take care
Mary

1.10.'20 - I've decided to come back and 'add Observations' - but just some photos from time to time.
