Assistant Professor and Herbarium Director at LSU. I'm a botanist living in southern Louisiana but with my mind always in the forests of Latin America. I'm a taxonomic expert of Neotropical Lobelioideae, especially the genera Centropogon, Siphocampylus, and Burmeistera, and I know my way around Lysipomia and Lobelia fairly well. Chances are I can ID a red flowered plant in Latin America to family (genus on a good day).

And, maybe a future amateur insect collector and birder? I appreciate those groups a lot, I just don't know them well.
